Our Child-Led Philosophy and Anti-Bias Approach

At Dimensions Education Programs, we embrace a child-led philosophy that prioritizes each child’s interests, needs, and developmental stages. This approach allows us to create a more inclusive, engaging, and meaningful learning environment. We are committed to an anti-bias approach in education and actively work to promote equity and inclusion, challenge stereotypes, encourage critical thinking, and support identity development.

Child-Initiated Celebrations: We encourage children and families to share their unique traditions and celebrations, allowing us to learn from one another and celebrate the vibrant diversity within our community. By encouraging child-initiated celebrations, we empower children to express their interests and highlight what matters to them.

Focus on Values and Concepts: Rather than concentrating on specific holidays, we will explore values and concepts such as kindness, gratitude, nature, and community. These themes align seamlessly with our educational objectives, and promote social and emotional learning. They will be woven into our daily activities and classroom materials, providing rich learning experiences.

Flexible Celebrations: Children have the choice about how, if, and when they want to celebrate. This may include special projects, storytelling, or creative arts, enabling each child to express themselves and initiate their learning through genuine interest.
